ORAL FLUID PARAMETERS AFTER SIALOSIS TREATMENT IN PATIENTS WITH HYPOTHYROIDISM
Based on the results of a comprehensive examination of 73 patients with hypothyroidism, the initial stage of sialosis was detected in 7 patients, clinically severe stage in 57 patients, and late stage in 9 patients. Minor soreness in the salivary glands bothered 25 patients, and the rest of the patients did not report any discomfort or pain in this area. A further study was conducted in 57 patients who had clinically severe sialosis with hypothyroidism. Patients were divided into 3 groups, the first group included 17 people who were treated with 1% pilocarpine hydrochloride solution, 4 drops 1-2 times a day. In the second group of 19 people, general restorative therapy was used, including “Aevit” + “Vitamin C” and physiotherapy procedures: ultrasound injection of propolis oil in the parotid salivary glands. Ultraphonophoresis with propolis oil was performed using an ultrasound therapy apparatus. The third group - the control group, consisted of 21 people, used general restorative therapy, including “Aevit” + “Vitamin C”.
