SPLINT THERAPY FOR COMPLEX EXTRACTION OF THIRD MOLARS
Clinical observation of patients who received split therapy was carried out: the use of a standard blue orthodontic splint T4A for 1 month before surgery and in the postoperative period for 2 months. Surgical interventions for complex extraction of third molars were performed in patients with orthodontic pathology and patients with chronic traumatic arthritis of the temporomandibular joint. All the extracted teeth were dystopic and retained and caused discomfort in the patients during the functioning of the dentition. Comprehensive third molar extraction was performed in 26 patients aged 18 to 35 years. The patients were divided into four groups: Group I consisted of 10 men, Group II - 10 women who were treated with spline therapy before and after surgery; Groups III and IV consisted of 3 men and 3 women without spline therapy. All patients were observed in the clinic for a year. At the same time, a comparative analysis of panoramic radiographs and diagnostic models of the jaws in the study groups before and 1 year after surgery was performed.
