[Takotsubo myocardiopathy with cardiac tamponade].

Takotsubo cardiomyopathy or stress cardiomyopathy is characterized by left ventricular dysfunction, usually hypokinesia of the apical segments and basal hypercontractility, with symptoms suggestive of acute myocardial infarction in the absence of coronary atherothrombotic disease. In most cases it has a benign course. We present the case of a patient with takotsubo cardiomyopathy with cardiac tamponade secondary to hemopericardium with subsequent cardiorespiratory arrest requiring emergency pericardiocentesis.
