ECONOMIC RESILIENCE AND EFFICIENCY OF THE INTERNATIONAL OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY IN 2024
The purpose of the study is a comprehensive analysis of the effectiveness and resilience of enterprises in the international oil and gas sector in the face of external shocks: pandemics, military conflicts and sanctions restrictions. The paper uses the technique of a matrix aggregate calculator (MAB) with 12 stability factors weighted according to the Fishburne scheme. The integral stability index (RI) is normalized to the interval [0.1, 0.9] using a uniform scale of nodal points, and a layered Pareto optimization method is used for its linguistic classification. The results refute the hypothesis that the sector has significantly benefited from sanctions against the Russian Federation: despite Gazprom’s losses in 2023–2024, the overall state of the industry is assessed as mediocre. Only 25% of companies demonstrate stability (the first 2 Pareto layers), the rest are subject to chaotic fluctuations. It is established that the RI classification requires taking into account the nonlinear distribution of quality levels on the scale of [0.1, 0.9], which excludes the use of uniform partitions.
