BAUHAUS KADINLARI
This study examines the historical development of the Bauhaus School, its pedagogical model and its understanding of art-design from a gender perspective, and analyses in depth the position and production of women artists within the school. It is revealed that Bauhaus imposed structural limitations on women despite its ostensibly egalitarian policies, but despite these limitations, women artists realized original and transformative productions in different disciplines, from textiles to photography, ceramics to architecture. These productions of women are evaluated not only as artistic achievements but also as pedagogical and intellectual contributions; it is emphasized that they played a decisive role in reshaping the interdisciplinary structure of Bauhaus. In addition, it is stated that after the closure of the school, this legacy was continued in different geographies, especially through women artists, and contributed to the polycentric structure of contemporary design. In this context, the study presents an evaluation that emphasizes the contemporary importance of Bauhaus in terms of feminist art history and gender-oriented design theories.
