Testing The Effects of Arsenic-Contaminated Air on Mice
Recently, exposure to arsenic-contaminated air has been increasing in certain areas due to increased coal burning. Arsenic is an incredibly harmful and naturally occurring environmental toxin, which means that it causes harmful effects on the human body through exposure. This study investigates the effects of arsenic-contaminated air on mice. Research is conducted using the methods ELISA, BAL, and colorimetric analysis. Possible effects of the arsenic on the mice include lung hemorrhaging, buildup of mucous, and inflammation. This research aims to better understand the effects of arsenic contaminated air on living organisms to improve treatment of patients who have been exposed to this toxin.
