With the rapid development of internet technology, profound changes are taking place in the field of education. This paper mainly discusses the innovation of teaching mode in higher vocational education under the background of “Internet plus.” The research points out that internet technology has brought unprecedented development opportunities for higher vocational education, which is helpful to enhance students' learning interest and participation. However, it also faces challenges such as technical barriers, uneven distribution of resources, monitoring of teaching quality, and students' autonomous learning ability. Through empirical research, it is found that the experimental group is better than the control group in academic performance, innovation ability, classroom participation, and learning satisfaction. Therefore, it is believed that in the future, with the empowerment of “Internet plus”, higher vocational education will show the trend of diversification, intelligence, personalization, and globalization and contribute to training more high-quality skilled talents.
