Exploring Key Virtual Reality Features to Enhance Efficiency Communication in Spatial Design

Virtual reality (VR) technology has emerged as a promising tool for enhancing communication efficiency in spatial design by providing immersive and interactive environments. This study investigates the impact of specific VR features implemented through the KeyVR platform on design-related communication processes. Using a mixed-method approach involving pre- and post-test communication efficiency questionnaires and the Kano Model analysis, the research evaluates how functionalities such as teleportation, material switching, and interactive sketching contribute to discussion quality, communication richness, and openness. Results indicate that VR-based communication improves several dimensions of interaction compared to traditional face-to-face methods, though challenges like contextual applicability of the experiment remain. This study highlights the importance of VR features and proposes further research directions to optimize VR tools for spatial design communication efficiency.
