Photosensitivity induced by <i>Tribulus terrestris</i> extract supplement

We report a case of drug-induced photosensitivity potentially triggered by Tribulus terrestris, a supplement commonly used to enhance athletic performance and sexual function. To our knowledge, this is the first documented case linking T. terrestris to such a reaction in humans. Our findings are based on clinical presentation and objective on- and off-drug phototesting, which provide compelling evidence that T. terrestris may induce a photosensitivity reaction, particularly under ultraviolet A exposure. This case contributes important new insights into the safety profile of T. terrestris and underscores the need for clinicians to consider herbal supplements as possible culprits in drug-induced photosensitivity.
