Axial Tensile and Bond Anchorage Tests of CRB600H Steel Bars after Straightening and Natural Minor Corrosion
Bond anchorage behaviors, mechanical properties, and weight deviation of CRB600H steel bars after straightening and natural minor corrosion were studied and analyzed, and corrosion levels ranged from 0.1% to 2.1%. The maximum negative deviation of the steel bars after straightening and natural minor corrosion was less than the specified limit of −4%, and a larger corrosion level usually occurred in smaller-diameter steel bars. The yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of the steel bar subjected to straightening and natural minor corrosion were greater than the specified limits, except for the steel bar with a corrosion level greater than 1.5% and a diameter of 6 mm. The bond strength between the natural minor corrosion reinforcement and concrete was reduced to some extent. After 120 days of onsite exposure, bond strength decreased by approximately 5% and fluctuated greatly. When steel bars were exposed onsite for more than 120 days, rust removal treatment had to be carried out first, and mechanical properties and weight deviation of steel bars had to be tested.
