Study of factors determining the innovative behaviour of enterprises in the context of international economic relations

Introduction. In the context of globalization and the current development of international economic relations, the issue of innovative development of enterprises is becoming increasingly relevant. Technological changes are taking place at a rapid pace, requiring enterprises to constantly adapt to new conditions, while innovation enables them to capitalize on the opportunities provided by international markets. Understanding the factors influencing innovation activities and behaviour allows for more effective strategic planning, risk minimization, and maximizing the benefits of international economic engagement. For well-grounded managerial decisions that foster long-term success, competitiveness, and sustainable development, it is necessary to explore the determinants of enterprises’ innovative behaviour within the framework of international economic relations. Purpose. This article aims to identify and analyse the groups of factors that determine an enterprise’s innovative behaviour in the context of international economic relations. Methodology. The formation of factor groups influencing innovative behaviour in international settings is based on theoretical generalization and systematization. The analysis of these factors was conducted using the TOWS analysis method, supported by expert evaluations. Results. The analysis resulted in the identification of external (economic, political-legal, social, and international) and internal (human resources, financial, organizational, marketing, and production-technological) factor groups. Expert evaluations of the positive and negative impact of internal factors, along with an analysis of the opportunities and threats in the external environment, enabled the formulation of TOWS strategies (SO – Maxi-Maxi, WO – Mini-Maxi, ST – Maxi-Mini, WT – Mini-Mini) for enterprises' innovative behaviour in international economic relations.
