Implementation of Problem Based Learning (PBL) Learning Model Assisted by Audio Visual Media to Improve Results Learning IPAS in Grade IV Students of SD Inpres 1 Tondo
This research aims to improve the learning outcomes of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) in grade IV students of SD Inpres 1 Tondo through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by audio visual media. The background of this research is the low student learning outcomes caused by the lack of variety of learning models, the lack of media use, and the lack of active participation of students in the learning process. This research uses the Classroom Action Research (PTK) method which is carried out in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages. The subjects of the study were 24 grade IV students consisting of 8 males and 16 females. Data was collected through learning outcome tests, observation of teacher and student activities, and documentation. The results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes. In the pre-action, the percentage of classical completeness only reached 37.5% with an average score of 56.25%. After the implementation of the PBL model assisted by audio visual media, the percentage of completeness increased to 58.33% in cycle I and 83.33% in cycle II, with an average score of 67.70% and 81.04%, respectively. In addition, student and teacher activities also increased, achieving very good criteria in cycle II. Thus, it can be concluded that the PBL learning model assisted by audio visual media is effective in improving the learning outcomes of IPAS students in grade IV of SD Inpres 1 Tondo. This research provides important implications for educators to implement innovative learning models that actively engage students and utilize engaging learning media.
