Immune thrombocytopenic purpura treated with individualized homoeopathic medicine Phosphorus in LM potencies: A Case Report

Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is an autoimmune disorder characterized by a low platelet count, leading to easy bruising, prolonged bleeding, and spontaneous hemorrhages. The condition arises when the immune system mistakenly targets and destroys platelets, essential for blood clotting. ITP can present acutely or chronically and is often managed through immunosuppressive therapies like steroids, which may have side effects, prompting the search for alternative treatments. Case Summary: This case report presents a 41-year-old male with spontaneous nosebleeds, petechiae, and easy bruising, who was diagnosed with ITP following a blood test revealing a low platelet count. Conventional treatment provided limited improvement, and the patient sought homeopathic intervention. After a detailed case analysis, Phosphorus was prescribed, leading to improvements in his symptoms and overall well-being. His platelet count improved from 27,000 / mm3 to 123,000 /mm3. This case highlights the potential role of individualized homeopathic treatment in managing ITP and reducing dependence on conventional medications.
