RAPID ASSEMBLY OF MODELS OF ORGANIC MOLECULES TOURNAMENT AS A NEW INTELLECTUAL GAME FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

The article discusses the main problems of the development of intellectual games in school chemical education and ways to solve them in the form of organizing an interschool tournament for the rapid assembly of organic molecule models. The purpose of the article is to consider the organization of the tournament as a means of developing the cognitive activity of students in the tenth and eleventh grades with in-depth study of chemistry. The main problems of intellectual competitions in teaching chemistry are presented. The author provides an overview of the development of this kind of tournaments in Russian chemical education. The features of the tournament held in Kamchatka were identified and discussed, its main characteristics and examples of tasks were given. The necessity of holding competitions has been proven: assembling models of molecules develops analytical and spatial thinking, leads to improved assimilation of material, and strengthens knowledge about the structure of molecules in space.
