The Effects of AI-based Adaptive Learning According to the Learning Personality Types of Nursing Students

Recently, AI-based customized education has become an issue in education, and as it is actively planned to be utilized in education, This study applied AI-based adaptive learning education in major nursing classes and investigated whether there were differences depending on Learning Personality Types. For this purpose, the effectiveness of AI-based adaptive learning training was evaluated among 142 nursing students at University B in Region C. The study results showed that, Among general characteristics, older age and higher major satisfaction were found to increase learning immersion and self-directed learning ability significantly.Regarding Learning Personality Types, learning immersion and self-directed learning ability were high in the behavioural type and low in the ideal type.Academic achievement was high in the perfect kind and low in the behavioural type, but this difference was not statistically significant. The findings indicated that AI-based adaptive learning education was related to the behavioural type of Learning Personality. Therefore, diverse learning strategies are needed, considering that while AI-based adaptive learning education did not show a significant relationship with all Learning Personality Types, it was highly correlated with the behavioural type. This study provides foundational data for implementing AI-based adaptive learning education in nursing major classes.
