DIGITALIZATION IN THE MINING INDUSTRY OF RUSSIA – CURRENT DE-VELOPMENT

The current article assesses the current stage of implementation and use of digital technologies in the extractive industry of Russia. Based on the study of the results of statistical observations of Rosstat for 2022–2023, an analysis of the structure, features, quantitative and qualitative characteristics of the applied digital technologies, the degree of their influence on various aspects of the activities of organizations in the extractive industry is carried out. It is specified that the key factor in the digitalization of mineral extraction in a market economy is the practical feasibility and efficiency of the applied technologies. Therefore, this aspect is given special attention in the work. It was found that, in general, according to companies' estimates, the degree of influence of the implemented digital technologies, and, consequently, the efficiency, is not high enough. Which, ultimately, determines the conservatism of the extractive industry in terms of digitalization and the low rate of its progress. In addition, the digitalization of the industry is significantly limited by high dependence on imported technical solutions, which in a number of areas is a determining factor in the context of sanctions.
