E-commerce not only provides small farmers with a new way to break through the limitations of traditional sales channels, but also helps them achieve income growth and economic independence by reducing transaction costs, expanding sales scope and enhancing product popularity; At the same time, it has also brought multiple challenges, such as the digital divide in technology and knowledge acquisition, difficulties in logistics and distribution, pressure to meet market quality standards and fierce market competition. The article assesses the effectiveness of the existing policy support measures, pointing out that despite major challenges, with the help of targeted policy support and technical training, small farmers can overcome these obstacles, give full play to the advantages of e-commerce platforms, enhance market competitiveness and promote the sustainable development of themselves and their communities. This study puts forward specific suggestions for agricultural extension workers, e-commerce platform operators and related stakeholders and is committed to jointly building an e-commerce ecosystem conducive to the development of small-scale farmers, thereby promoting the prosperity of the rural economy and the all-round progress of society.
