Electrolytic capacitors as an object of educational research

For the course of experimental physics, the content and technology of conducting an educational study of electrolytic (polar) capacitors in DC and AC circuits have been developed. Students measure the capacitance of an electrolytic capacitor; obtain its volt-ampere characteristic; examine an improperly connected electrolytic capacitor; examine a battery of two polar capacitors connected in series; establish the correct and safe inclusion of polar capacitors connected in a counter and sequential manner in an alternating current circuit.
