Aircraft Engine Emissions Reporting Information System Validation

The role of the aviation industry and its environmental repercussions are nowadays frequently the subjects of great scrutiny, most notably concerning greenhouse gases and radiative forcing. Supported by the global agenda introduced as a response to climate change, research institutions and industry have recently turned their Research and Development (R&D) interests towards developing technological solutions enhancing comprehension of flight emissions. With that respect, this research builds upon previous work in the field of study which has introduced a model enabling automated monitoring, data processing and reporting of aircraft fuel burn and resulting emissions. Leveraging real-world data to reason and disseminate insights into the validation of a novel solution named Aircraft Engine Emissions Reporting Information System (AERIS), the research presents findings detailing the reliability and robustness of the novel solution.
