A MONITORIA INCLUSIVA E O APOIO EDUCACIONAL: RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA DE UMA ACADÊMICA DE ENFERMAGEM

The objective of this experience report is to describe educational inclusion in higher education through the experience of a nursing student who worked as a tutor for a student with special needs. A descriptive-exploratory qualitative approach was adopted to describe the report. Inclusive tutoring support was offered in three curricular disciplines of an undergraduate health course, taken from August 2024 to December 2024 at a public university in the interior of Minas Gerais. Data were collected through a field diary where daily experiences, inclusion strategies, and educational support offered were recorded and later interpreted according to the content analysis technique from Bardin’s perspective. The results highlight facilitating factors, such as institutional support and collaborative interaction, and hindering factors, such as structural and pedagogical challenges. In addition to boosting the tutor’s academic training, the experience raised her awareness of inclusive practices in the health area, expanding her understanding of accessibility and equity. It is concluded that initiatives like this are fundamental to strengthening educational policies and improving inclusion strategies, contributing to more accessible and equitable higher education.
