Development of Fault Visualization System for Equipment Inspection based on a Single Microphone Sensor
Equipment inspection is a crucial maintenance method for ensuring the reliability and safety of workshop equipment. This study proposes a novel portable equipment inspection system based on a single microphone sensor and a camera sensor to achieve fast and efficient fault diagnosis and localization. Through utilizing fault feature frequency comparison, the proposed system extracts the feature frequency of fault and builds an inspection feature database. During inspection, combined with machine vision positioning, the acoustic feature plot can be overlaid on the reality image of equipment. Associate all fault feature plots to indicate the location of the fault. To evaluate the performance of the proposed system, two industrial dehumidifier inspection experiments were designed. The experimental results verify that the proposed system can successfully identify and locate compressor faults. Unlike traditional fault localization algorithms based on beamforming, which require multiple microphone sensor arrays, the proposed system uses only one microphone sensor and can adapt to various inspection environments.
