Performance analysis of generalized filter bank orthogonal frequency division multiplexing waveform in satellite communication system
The integration of ground and satellite communication, known as satellite communication communication, is trending with the advancement of communication technology. However, integrating different waveforms in the air-space network is costly, and waveforms used in the ground network may exhibit performance deviations. To address this, a general filter bank-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (GFB-OFDM) waveform is proposed, fulfilling the flexible waveform needs of both ground and air-space systems. Its system model is established, and theoretical analysis reveals that the existing CP-OFDM receiving algorithm can be used for GFB-OFDM, with a lower peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). Simulations in an AWGN channel environment show reduced bit error rate (BER) and PAPR when GFB-OFDM is multiplexed with CP-OFDM receiver, making it a suitable technology for satellite communication.
