As palavras têm força: amefricanidade e fabulação na guerra das denominações

This aims article to contribute to the development of anti-racist communication. To this end, we bring the concepts of four authors who discuss the centrality of African and Indigenous influences in the construction of concepts and languages and in the naming of objects and processes, using the cosmogony of these peoples to confront colonialism. The concepts examined are “Guerra das denominações,” by Bispo dos Santos (2015); “Fabulação crítica,” by Saidya Hartman (2020); “Pretuguês,” by Lélia Gonzalez (2020); and “Dobra na linguagem/Dobra na Palavra,” by Luiz Rufino (2019). A literature review of academic texts from Google Scholar and the Intercom database was also conducted. The analysis reveals that these concepts are presented as communicational tools for counter-narrating the imaginaries sedimented in colonialism and stimulating new discussions on anti-racism.
