O índice de feminidade da CEPAL sob olhar decolonial e feminista negro-latino-americano

This study critically analyzes ECLAC’s Feminity of Poverty Index (FPI), combining black feminisms and Latin American decolonial thought. Based on the a historical series (2001–2023) of the index and 2018 data disaggregated by race and ethnicity in Brazil and Colombia, this study explores how the FPI reproduces the coloniality of knowledge and power by operating with universalizing categories. By overlooking the vulnerabilities and agencies of Black women, the index reinforces Eurocentric epistemologies. This study argues for the need to consider territorial racialization, the legacies of slavery, and the sexual and racial division of labor to develop more contextualized readings of poverty. It aims to expand the understanding of the multiple dimensions of poverty experienced by Black women in Brazil and Colombia.
