DETERMINING THE POTENTIAL FOR AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION IN A RURAL AGGLOMERATION
Contemporary agricultural research highlights the importance of an integrated approach to assessing the production potential of rural territories united in agglomeration systems. This article presents the development of an economic-mathematical model for optimizing agricultural production in the Nizhny Novgorod region agglomeration, encompassing nine municipal districts. The model employs linear programming methods, particularly the simplex method, and incorporates key parameters: constraints on arable land, minimum production volumes of major crops and livestock products, as well as structural relationships between different product types. The model's primary objective is to maximize the value of shipped agricultural products. Practical application of the model revealed significant growth potential even while maintaining existing cultivated areas. Specifically, calculations demonstrated the possibility of increasing gross grain yields while identifying key development constraints: limited land resources, insufficient livestock production intensification, and low profitability of vegetable farming with current technologies. The study confirms the effectiveness of the agglomeration approach to agricultural production organization. Uniting municipal districts into an integrated system enables rational production allocation, overcomes local territorial limitations, and significantly enhances overall agribusiness efficiency. The developed model can be adapted to other regions considering their specific agroecological and economic conditions, opening prospects for further research in this field.
