OTP initiation, engagement, and retention in New York
Are fewer people entering methadone treatment because more patients are being retained longer? Are there differences between New York City and the rest of the state? Do take‐home doses affect retention? Ashly Jordan Ph.D., director of research and program evaluation for the New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports (OASAS) spent more than 5 years working on answers to these questions, and presented her findings, which are expected to be published, at the annual COMPA meeting held at Zucker hospital earlier this month. See ADAW June 23 https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/adaw.34563 for a report on the meeting in general.
