Literature Review on Extreme Precipitation Events and Their Population and Economic Exposure in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
In recent years, with the gradual acceleration of global warming, the water cycle has intensified, leading to frequent extreme weather events such as rainstorms and high-temperature heatwaves. Among them, the occurrence of extreme precipitation events has caused huge losses to human life, property, and socio-economic development. This paper reviews the definitions of extreme precipitation events and exposure, studies on extreme precipitation events at different regional scales at home and abroad, studies on exposure, and the research status at home and abroad on the threshold of extreme precipitation events, the selection of extreme precipitation indicators and exposure indicators. It is found that there are still deficiencies in the selection and division of spatiotemporal scale indicators for extreme precipitation events and in the comprehensive research on exposure. On this basis, the spatiotemporal distribution law of extreme precipitation events and the research prospects of exposure are prospected.
