Dynamic Reserve Margin Adjustment for Day-Ahead Scheduling in High-Renewable Power Systems
With the development of wind and solar power, the volatility and uncertainty of wind and solar power pose significant challenges to power system scheduling optimization. This paper develops an improved unit commitment model that takes wind and solar curtailment costs into account. This paper proposes a day-ahead scheduling method for high-proportion renewable energy power systems based on dynamic reserve margin adjustment. By constructing an economic dispatch model that considers renewable energy consumption indicators, with the sum of thermal power generation costs and wind and solar curtailment costs as the objective function, predictions of wind and solar power output, the method dynamically modifies reserve margin constraints to optimize unit commitment scheduling. In the case study solution, this approach effectively enhances the utilization rate of renewable energy and the flexibility of reserve scheduling, and has a significant advantage in economy, providing important support for the economy and stability of power systems with high renewable energy penetration.
