Implementation of a Dual Transformer Model Based on Unified Magnetic Equivalent Circuit for Saturation Analysis and Transient Electromagnetic Simulation

High-capacity, long-distance high-voltage power transmission and distribution play a critical role in optimizing energy allocation and enhancing environmental sustainability in China. As core equipment in power systems, power transformers necessitate transient process simulation for critical operational state evaluation. This study references the topology of the unified magnetic equivalent circuit (UMEC) transformer model in PSCAD and performs rational estimation of model parameters based on nameplate data. A computational program corresponding to the single-phase transformer UMEC model is developed using <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{C + +}$</tex>, achieving efficient magnetization current solution. Comparative analysis of simulation results between piecewise linearization and nonlinear fitting strategies demonstrated the respective applicability of both approaches, establishing theoretical foundations for developing userconfigurable single-phase transformer simulation platforms.
