Smart Agriculture: IoT and AI-Driven Solutions for Optimized Crop Management and Sustainable Farming

The integration of the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Machine Learning (ML) has revolutionized agriculture, offering innovative, data-driven solutions to enhance productivity and promote sustainability. This study explores recent advancements in IoT and AI applications within agriculture, focusing on yield prediction, crop monitoring, disease detection, and irrigation optimization. IoT sensors gather real-time environmental data, including temperature, weather conditions, and soil moisture levels, which are later analyzed by AI algorithms to generate useful insights. Advanced ML models, such as Random Forest and Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are employed to maximize resource usage, forecast crop production, and identify diseases early. Additionally, a proposed methodology is introduced, leveraging IoT and AI for comprehensive monitoring of crop health, environmental conditions, and disease control. While these technologies hold immense potential, challenges such as scalability, data privacy concerns, and high implementation costs remain significant. The paper highlights ongoing projects and outlines future strategies to pave the way for optimized, sustainable agricultural practices.
