Quantitative Assessment of Price-Based Demand Response Potential Based on Fuzzy Control Theory
An accurate evaluation of the capacity for demand response is a prerequisite and foundation for its successful implementation. Addressing the challenge of obtaining data for the price elasticity matrix, which is primarily utilized in demand response potential assessment, this study presents a quantitative assessment approach for price-based demand response potential. The proposed method initially establishes a comprehensive index system that encompasses factors influencing demand response. Subsequently, it employs fuzzy control theory to derive a quantitative elasticity matrix. Finally, by integrating customer electricity consumption data with the price-based demand response potential calculation model, it measures and evaluates the potential of various electricity customers. To illustrate the application of this method, a major industry in a southern province of China is taken as a case study (data is processed in accordance with data confidentiality requirements), quantitatively assessing the price-based demand response potential and analyzing the potential of response across different industries. The results align with the actual price sensitivity of the industry and can serve as a valuable reference for the orderly implementation of demand response.
