YOLO Based Animal Repellent Device Using Raspberry Pi
In the agrarian heartland of Tamil Nadu, where agriculture sustains the livelihoods of rural and tribal communities, farmers face significant challenges, particularly from wild animal attacks on their crops. These attacks often result in substantial crop damage, threatening their income flow and food security. This project aims to empower the community by developing a sustainable animal repellent device that uses real-time vision recognition model using You Only Look Once (YOLO) to detect and repel animals using sound repellent* from the fields. The innovative solution is designed to provide a long-term, eco-friendly approach to safeguarding crops, offering farmers greater security and protection against losses. By enhancing crop productivity and ensuring more stable income, the device has the potential to transform the lives of farmer communities in Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, the project can serve as a model for addressing similar agricultural challenges in other regions, promoting sustainable farming practices and contributing to the overall economic well-being of rural communities across India.
