Wideband Oscillation Risk in Distribution Networks with Reverse Power Flow From Photovoltaics
The penetration level of distributed photovoltaics (DPVs) in modern distribution networks is increasing, leading to issues such as reverse power flow (RPF) and wideband oscillations, which severely affect the safety and stability of the distribution network. To analyze the correlation between RPF and wideband oscillations in the distribution network, this paper focuses on a real distribution network in a certain region of China. Using PSCAD/EMTDC, a simulation system for a distribution network with integrated DPVs was constructed. The simulation analyzes the operational conditions of the distribution network under different RPF scenarios. It was determined that under scenarios where RPF occurs both at the distribution feeders and transformers, an increase in RPF will lead to wideband oscillations in the distribution network. Furthermore, an increase in RPF does not alter the oscillation frequency but affects the amplitude of each oscillation frequency component and the amplitude ratio with the fundamental frequency. This conclusion provides a foundation for further research into the oscillation mechanisms and key influencing factors under RPF conditions in distribution networks.
