OVUHealthCare: An e-Consulting Application for Women Reproductive Health in the Philippines

Electronic consultation (e-consultation) is a provider-to-provider discussion in an electronic health record (EHR) or web/mobile-based platform and is asynchronous and consultative. It is an effective method of improving access to healthcare and is designed to increase patient and provider access to specialty knowledge without requiring in-person meetings During the pandemic, e-consultation was commonly used to provide healthcare for patients and reduce risks of contracting the virus. Reproductive health is crucial to overall health and wellbeing as it is fundamental to their ability to make choices and decisions about their livelihood. The study's main objective is to develop an application that supports women needing reproductive guidance. The study applied the Iterative Waterfall Model. The results and feedback are gathered from the Nielsen Attribute of Usability (NAU) Survey participants by developing the system. Furthermore, the study attested to the application's functionalities and whether the specifications and deliverables fit. In summary, OVU found a total average score of 3.21 for version 1 and 4.19 for version 2, indicating that the application improved since beta on services offered and deliverables using Nielsen's Usability scaling. Moreover, OVU successfully implemented peer-to-peer video conference calls, e-prescriptions, e-diagnoses, and appointment booking services to enhance users' overall experience and convenience and promote a better reproductive life.
