Optimal Configuration of Electric-Hydrogen Energy System Based on Hydrogen Combined Transport Mode
As environmental pollution and resource depletion intensify, hydrogen has gained importance in the global energy transition due to its clean and low-carbon characteristics. This paper explores the optimal configuration of hydrogen production, storage, and transportation within electric-hydrogen energy systems (EHES), focusing on optimizing hydrogen storage and electrolyzer capacities. First, a system model is proposed, focusing on the capacities of hydrogen storage tanks and electrolyzers. Next, a gaseous-solid hydrogen storage system (GSHSS) is integrated, and its optimal configuration is modeled. Finally, a nonlinear mixed-integer programming approach is introduced to optimize hydrogen transport, considering operational costs, investment, and system constraints. Case studies demonstrate the effectiveness and safety of the proposed model, showing that optimization can enhance system efficiency, reduce costs, and improve the overall sustainability of the EHES.
