Smart Tonometer TO Measure Eye Pressure of Glaucoma Patients for Usage at Home
Glaucoma is one the leading cause for irreversible blindness, need continuous monitoring to measure intraocular pressure (IOP) for early detection and effective operation. Conventional tonometry style bear clinical settings, limited by an abnormal cornea or fixation and availability. To address this, a smart tonometer is developed which is non-invasive, portable, home-grounded and user-friendly device to monitor IOP level using syne jet technology passing air pulses to the cornea by infrared laser sensor for accurate, precise and contact-free measures. Arduino powered microcontroller regulates the system for crucial factors while the integration of telemedicine enables remote data transmission. Its ergonomic design enhances accuracy and probability. The results are more close to clinical results and they are validated by ophthalmologists.
