Exploring the Impact of Interdisciplinary Learning Communities on Learners' Collaborative Problem-Solving Abilities in Online Collaborative Learning
With the rapid development of information technology, online collaborative learning has become an essential component of the education field. However, factors such as poor communication, unclear role distribution, or lack of collaborative experience can negatively impact learners' collaborative problem-solving abilities in online collaborative learning. Against this backdrop, interdisciplinary learning communities, as an innovative learning model, can facilitate the integration of diverse perspectives, enhancing both the depth and breadth of learners' thinking. This study employed a quasi-experimental research method and a collaborative problem-solving abilities assessment scale to explore the impact of interdisciplinary and single-discipline learning communities on learners' online collaborative problem-solving abilities. The results revealed that interdisciplinary learning communities significantly promoted the development of learners' representation and formation abilities in collaborative problem-solving. Moreover, groups formed within interdisciplinary learning communities demonstrated better collaborative learning performance.
