Extended State Observer-Driven Deadbeat Predictive Current Control Strategy for Current Loops in Five-Phase Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Drives

Deadbeat predictive current control (DPCC) exhibits superior current tracking accuracy and transient dynamic response characteristics. However, this control method is sensitive to system parameters, with its performance relying on precise system models and parameters. To overcome these challenges, this study develops an enhanced DPCC controller integrated with an extended state observer for five-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (five-phase PMSM), which actively compensates for parametric mismatches and external disturbances. The methodology framework comprises three key components: First, the mathematical model of the five-phase PMSM is introduced. Second, an optimized DPCC method incorporating an extended state observer is proposed. By observing the total system disturbances induced by parameter deviations, parameter compensation for the DPCC controller is achieved. Finally, simulations verify the effectiveness of the proposed DPCC method, and experimental results are comparatively analyzed. The results indicate that the motor control system exhibits significantly improved robustness and enhanced control performance after adopting this method.
