Control Strategy for Electrolytic Lead Load Participation in Grid Primary Frequency Regulation Based on Load Model

Compared to traditional power systems, new power systems with a high proportion of renewable energy and power electronic devices exhibit increased power fluctuations and reduced overall system inertia, leading to more pronounced frequency issues. To expand the frequency regulation resources of power systems and achieve demand-side response for grid frequency regulation, this paper conducts the following research: By investigating the industrial process of electrolytic lead and the load model of electrolytic cells, a method for regulating the power of electrolytic lead loads is proposed. By studying the typical frequency response model of power systems, two control strategies for electrolytic lead loads participating in grid primary frequency regulation are proposed, including real-time power regulation of electrolytic lead loads in response to grid frequency deviations and limiting transient frequency deviations by responding to the initial rate of change of grid frequency. Case studies validate the effectiveness of the control strategies for electrolytic lead loads participating in grid primary frequency regulation.
