The Lasting 25Hz AC Voltage Fluctuation During High-Voltage Ride-Through of Offshore Wind Farms with Connected VSC Rectifier Station
This paper indicates an unreported lasting <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{2 5 H z}$</tex> AC voltage fluctuation in offshore wind farms with their connected VSC rectifier station. Although this voltage fluctuation was discovered by the electro-mechanical transient simulation, and thus it cannot precisely figure out the amplitude and frequency of this fluctuation, the mechanism of this voltage fluctuation can be reasonably explained by the lasting switching of the wind turbine (WT) strategies during the high-voltage ridethrough and the corresponding reactive power dynamics. Lastly, in order to explore the dynamics of this voltage fluctuation on a very fine time-scale, further research work via electromagnetic transient simulation tools is required in the future.
