Optimized Estimation of Future Power Losses in Low Voltage Distribution Systems Based on Particle Swarm Optimization and Genetic Algorithm
With the growing reliance on low-voltage distribution networks in modern power systems, accurate estimation of power losses has become critical for improving operational efficiency and meeting rising demand. This study addresses the challenges of power losses by intelligent algorithm. Additionally, the voltage stability can be analyzed by connecting shunt capacitor or distributed generation (DG) to specific bus. Moreover, this article develops the Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) techniques to standard IEEE 33-bus distributed system in order to reduce each buses' power losses. The comparison between these techniques includes sensitivity analysis, to provide scientific basis for parameter selection for the practical application of algorithms, and convergence analysis by calculating the average and standard deviation of the number of iterations required to converge to a certain threshold. Finally, the Voltage Stability Index (VSI) is introduced to quantify the degree for voltage stability under different load multiplier factors.
