Developing a Virtual Gesture-Based Technology for a Seamless Educational Interface

Traditional teaching methods rely heavily on physical input devices such as whiteboards, markers, and remote controllers, limiting flexibility and engagement in digital education. With the increasing adoption of e-learning and distance education, a contactless and intuitive interface is essential to enhance teaching, learning environments, and student engagement. This study presents a Virtual Gesture-Based Technology for Interactive Learning, a system that enables teachers and students to control presentations, videos, and virtual boards using natural hand gestures. Leveraging computer vision, human-computer interaction, and AI-driven automation, the system utilizes MediaPipe for real-time gesture recognition, OpenCV for image processing, and PyAutoGUI for interaction automation. The proposed system fosters an interactive training experience, reduces reliance on hardware, and promotes a touch-free learning environment. Implemented in Python and packaged as a standalone executable (.exe), the system ensures compatibility across multiple devices, making it a scalable and cost-effective solution for modern educational technology applications.
