AI-Tuned Circularly Polarized STSM Antenna for IoT-Enabled RF Energy Harvesting Application
IoT is essential in the current context for building a wireless connectivity infrastructure, which in turn drives the use of wireless applications. Concerns regarding technical advancements such as circular polarization and ambient field radiations are being addressed by research on a Y-shaped printed monopole antenna with a SADEA-tuned smart metasurface (STSM) acting as a reflector. First, we will examine a printed Y-shaped monopole antenna that is a linearly polarized (LP) for 3.5/5 GHz (stage 1). We used a metallic strip to connect one parasitic conducting strip to the partial ground plane (stage 2) in order to comprehend the change from linear to circular polarization (stage 3). The STSM was placed beneath the radiator in order to optimize towards an improved polarization bandwidth and gain in order to achieve the performance trade-offs (stage 4). It provided a measured 10-dB BW of > 40%, 3-dB BW of > 15%, a CP peak antenna gain of > 9.5 dBic, an antenna efficiency of > 75%, and an improved front-to-back ratio (FBR) of > -21.5 dBic with a 3-dB beamwidth of > 120° across the desired bands, intended for usage in the RF energy harvesting and wireless power transmission applications.
