Quantitative Analysis of the Impact of Rainfall and Cleaning Cycles on the Power Loss Rate of Photovoltaic Modules
Dust accumulation on the surface of photovoltaic (PV) modules leads to power generation losses. To quantitatively analyze the effects of natural rainfall and manual cleaning on the power loss rate of PV modules, rainfall data from Hangzhou and Xining were selected. Under identical dust accumulation conditions, the annual total power generation of PV modules after natural rainfall and manual cleaning was studied. Additionally, a method for determining the optimal cleaning dates based on rainfall data was proposed and compared with fixed-cycle cleaning. The results indicate that manual cleaning reduces the power loss rate. In regions with lower annual rainfall, manual cleaning on optimal dates increases annual power generation by 7 % compared to no cleaning.
