Improving Power Quality Through the Use of Synchronous Machines: A Case Study

Power quality is an increasing concern in the context of modernizing energy infrastructures and the growing integration of renewable energy sources. Synchronous machines offer promising solutions for managing and improving power quality due to their ability to stabilize voltage and minimize frequency fluctuations in electrical networks. This paper details the development and implementation of an advanced excitation control system for synchronous machines, combined with a dynamic feedback system to evaluate and enhance the power system's response to various disturbances. Through detailed simulations and comparative analyses, we demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach in voltage stabilization and frequency fluctuation reduction, thereby contributing to improved power system performance and greater network reliability. The results highlight the significant potential of applying advanced control technologies to synchronous machines in addressing power quality issues, opening new perspectives for the operational optimization of modern electrical systems.
