A Method for Monitoring Hidden Faults in Relay Protection Operation Circuits Based on Smart IoT Technology
The swift advancement of electrical grid systems has rendered the surveillance of latent malfunctions in protective relay circuits increasingly critical. This paper proposes a method for monitoring hidden faults in relay protection operation circuits based on smart IoT technology, aiming to enhance the safety and stability of power grids through the online monitoring of operation circuit false connections via IoT technology. The approach encompasses an all-encompassing framework that spans the sensing stratum, communication stratum, infrastructure stratum, and service stratum, leveraging a hybrid cloud-edge computational model to facilitate instantaneous data handling and evaluation. Simulation analysis has verified the effectiveness of the method, showing that it can comprehensively monitor the positive and negative control mother lines, the potential of the trip and closing coil, the working status of the export pressure plate, and achieve false connection and potential abnormality monitoring alarms. This study not only enhances the reliability of power grid operation and inspection but also provides new ideas for the intelligent development of power systems.
