Research on Optimal Power Configuration for Offshore Platforms Considering Grid Security & Economics
Aiming at the security and economic operation requirements of offshore oilfield power systems under the background of shore power grid connection, this paper proposes a method to optimize the retained power source for existing gas turbines on offshore oilfield platforms that considers both grid security and power supply economy. The study establishes a capacity optimization model for platform gas turbines within a hybrid ‘shore power = platform gas turbines’ power supply system, with the operational safety of gas turbines and grid stability as boundary conditions. The model sets the optimization objective of minimizing total costs, which include shore power procurement costs, unit generation costs, and equipment maintenance costs. The solution methodology employs a variety of typical operational scenarios to effectively account for varying platform operational requirements. The GUROBI solver is used to solve the model. Through an offshore oilfield case, the paper analyzes the minimum retained power configuration scheme considering only grid security and the retained power configuration scheme considering both security and economy, which provides a decision-making basis for engineering practice.
