Secure IoT Data Transmission Leveraging Lightweight Cryptography
There is a pressing demand for a lightweight cryptography approach, because of the increasing dependence on embedded systems, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and resource-constrained situations. Based on the computational complexity and resource requirements, the normal encryption techniques are inappropriate for these devices. These issues are resolved by lightweight cryptography, which offers safe encryption techniques tailored for low-resource settings. This paper designed a lightweight cryptography method to protect the data in IoT devices. A block cipher lightweight encryption technique based on diffusion and confusion is developed to safeguard the data. With a latency of 0.00585 seconds, the 4096-bits processing time is less than one second. Thus, it guarantees that the suggested approach offers improved security for devices with limited resources.
