Integration and Application of Open Source

With the continuous expansion of power system scale and the increasing complexity of its operation, efficient and accurate simulation tools have become essential for ensuring the safe and stable operation of power systems. The background, importance, and current development status of power system simulation are elaborated in this paper. Through an extensive review of various power system simulation software, four opensource packages were selected: OpenDSS, Pandapower, Matpower, and STEPS. Their features were compared and analyzed. Based on this analysis, an integration and application scheme was proposed, covering six key functional modules: power flow analysis, optimal power flow, harmonic analysis, dynamic analysis, short-circuit calculation, and state estimation. Ultimately, the successful integration and application of these open-source tools provided a multifunctional and user-friendly unified environment for power system simulation and computation.
