Research on Differential Protection Optimization of Distribution Network Based on 5G Slicing Power Wireless Private Network Transmission Technology
The emerging power system necessitates wireless terminal communication solutions that concurrently address requirements for massive connectivity, ultra-low latency, stringent reliability, and cost-effectiveness. 5G-enabled differential protection has emerged as a critical enabler for fault isolation in spatially distributed, multi-node distribution networks. This research introduces a power-dedicated wireless network architecture leveraging 5G slicing technology. Comprehensive differential protection testing was conducted on distribution feeders employing both SV and GOOSE protocols. Experimental validation demonstrates that adaptive strategies-specifically sleep-mode activation and packetization interval optimization-effectively mitigate bandwidth consumption under 5G slicing configurations. These findings provide critical insights for facilitating large-scale deployment of wireless differential protection systems in next-generation smart grids.
